VSH Italian, Carniolan, & Saskastraz

We receive weekly deliveries of Hygienic Italian, Carniolan, & Saskastraz queens from April to September from Olivarez Honey Bee, Inc. Our 1st delivery will arrive April 19, 2023, (depending on weather & Olivarez’s availability).

 

2023 VSH Italian, Carniolan, & Saskastraz Prices:

Italian & Carniolan = $43.00 ea. plus WV 6% Sales Tax

Saskastraz = $46.00 ea. plus WV 6% Sales Tax

Marking Fee (if requested, otherwise they are unmarked): $3.00 ea.

3% Discount for Cash Payment. Discount not available online. Discount available in shop only. Inventory is 1st come, 1st serve. Queens can not be held if not prepayed/reserved – no exceptions.

We cannot accept payments over the phone. We accept credit cards at our shop. Absolutely no holds on queens unless you’ve pre-paid & you must pick your order up immediately when the queens arrive. Shipping not available. Queens should be installed ASAP.

Saskatraz traits:

  • Excellent honey production
  • Good wintering ability
  • Selected for increased varroa tolerance and resistance to brood diseases
  • Show increased hygienic behavior

Reserving/Prepaying Queens

The 1st orders we receive in April are usually in high demand. We try to order enough to supply for walk-ins, however, those amounts can sell quickly. It is recommended to prepay/reserve queens.

Generally we are able to receive the desired amounts & types of queens weekly, however, availability issues may arise due to demand, weather, etc. If requested, we can refund your payment if we can’t receive the types/amounts needed when you need them.

Large Orders

Please contact us to reserve/pre-pay for orders of 5 queens or more.

Buckfast

Occasionally, we will place orders for Buckfast queens from Ferguson Apiaries in Canada if there is enough pre-orders. We will need advance notice & payment for your order. We will place an order with Ferguson when 10 or more queens with payment are received. Due to import, shipping, & inspection fees, it is not cost efficient for any parties involved for us to order 10 or less queens.

 

Mite Maulers, Purdue Ankle-biters, and other specialty breeds

If available from breeders, we will place orders for Mite Maulers, Purdue Ankle-biters, and other specialty breeds. Please contact us for availability.
